Web Resources for Healthy Living

I have started to try to figure out how to get in good shape again. As usual the winter has been pretty severe here where I live and I have been a bit more sedentary that I would have like for the past three or four months. At the moment I am looking for good common sense advise on how to get fit and eat right. So I have been looking for the best site for eating healthy on the web and other sites like that. In fact I am not looking to get involved in any crackpot schemes to lose weight, even though I know that the way that you achieve this sort of goal is not going to be that much fun. There are obviously two parts to this sort of plan. Continue reading

Getting All of Your Personal and Business Books Together and Updated Daily is Easy

I have used Quicken for a very long time. I used to buy it in a box that had multiple floppy disks to install it. So, you know I’m talking way back as far as computers and software go. I like using it for our personal accounts and now our business accounts too. It sure does make keeping track of things for taxes a whole lot easier. I just enter the record and that is it. I know there is a paper receipt around in case of auditing, but I just rely on the Quicken 2016 entries for the data I need.

I can see where we are at as far as projections and our needs go whether it is our business or our personal household budget. Everything is there from the mortgage and the payoff amount to our business van and the tools we need. I can find the date we bought this computer I am typing this on. It makes it really easy for the accountant to do our taxes. Continue reading

How Much of the Real is Real

How much of what we see on the web is real? How much are our perceptions being skewed, engineered and out right manipulated? To some degree I believe we’re all guilty of social engineering a specific image that we’d like to portray on the web and especially on social media platforms like Facebook. We specifically share those status updates, photos and content that paint us in the way that we would like to be seen. Is it so surprising then that it’s possible to buy real Facebook fans? When viewing a fan page of a celebrity, icon or artist do you ever wonder if every single one of those ‘fans’ that are posting right now on their wall are actually, well, real? It’s shocking to think that some of those profiles might be cleverly scripted automated bots that engage with content in order to make it appear as if they are more popular than they are. The bot might even be specifically tasked to bring attention to certain posts and content being shared.

It’s not so different from the concept of a shill or the buying of grievers for a funeral. Continue reading

Learning to Deal with Gout Without Prescription Medications

When my big toe turned red and hurt like it was shot, burned and ran over, I knew I had to educate myself and read more about the gout I had and how to manage it. I had my first flareup when I went on one of those all protein and no carb diets. I was already predisposed to getting gout because both my mom and dad had it. I knew about the pain they went through, but with pain, unless you experience it yourself, it is just a memory of what others went through. My first real and direct experience with gout pain was a rude awakening. That is really a literal statement because I went to sleep with no gout pain and woke up with a bright red toe that hurt really bad.

The first few minutes of getting out of bed were uncomfortable. Continue reading

I Have to Pick a Power Company

This is not a problem any place that I have lived before. I have lived in South Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee and Arkansas. Every place that I lived before you had a monopoly over the distribution of electricity. In West Charleston for example I had Duke Power and they were the only option if you wanted power. The other options were to go without or make your own some way. Now I am living in a little town between Houston and Galveston, I have been checking out this website where they list all of the companies I have to choose from here and show me the rates that they charge. It does not really seem as though there is a whole lot of difference in that. Continue reading

The Price of Owning Things

Moving to Los Angeles was a huge moment for me. I had been dreaming of the day for a long time but not one of those dreams went on to include being robbed in my first week. I was devestated. Everything that I had brought with me was taken away from me in the span of a week – I couldn’t believe it. I knew that L.A could be dangerouys but not once did I think that I would be calling ADT for Los Angeles to protect what little I had left. It’s expensive living here and I was hoping to save as much money possible while I was here for work.

Now I’m spending more than I even had back home. Continue reading

Best Reviews for Portable Vaporizers

I think that it is probably time for me to invest in a new vaporizer to use. The one I have has seen its fair share of use, and it is just kind of getting worn out. It does not work very well these days, and so I thought I would check out Vapor Domain to see what their prices were like on vaporizers. I definitely want to get a vaporizer that is well made, so that it will be sure to last me a long time.

I definitely want to get something high quality. I believe that it is worth the extra money when you are really going to buy something that is of high quality. At least, that has always yielded me good results in the past, and I think that there is a reason behind it. Continue reading

Why We Went with Satellite Television Service Instead of Cox Cable TV

Well, I guess I can say that there is no doubt that the Cox Cable TV company that serves TV viewers with cable television service in this region is indeed a huge company. You would think that we would have no problem signing up for service with a big cable TV company like that. Well, we decided to go with satellite television service instead. We just like it better. I also like that rate we are paying for the channels we have.

Both cable and satellite providers use a tier based or package based system to provide you the channels you want for a monthly cost. The really popular channels that are not mainstream often get put into a tier or package that costs an additional amount of money. You might find this with some of the non-mainstream networks that suddenly have hit shows or sports and outdoor networks. Continue reading
